To access the Internet, a regular user uses dial up modem, this modem connect your computer with a telephone line, through this telephone line you establish a connection with a dialup ISP (internet service providers). This connection is modem-to-modem connection, which is routed to the Internet. Working

This is maximum speed limit, which you can get through dial up and in most cases it is very low. There are many factors, which minimize the speed such as noise in telephone line, the condition of wires, modem capability, and the distance of your home from the main telephone exchange. Dial up access have very high latency, which make difficult to play online games and video conferencing. Many ISP’s advertise that they are high speed dialup Internet providers, they cannot accelerate 56k dialup connection, so they just compress the data and after compressing they transfer it to you. This will increase the downloading of a web page. You can easily find high speed dialup service providers and can enjoy the high speed downloading.

Replacement By Broadband
In these modern days, the technology is rapidly changing, now dial up modems are also replaced by broadband Internet access. You use this technology either by cable or DSL connection. Through this connection you can get very high downloading and uploading speed up to 2Mbps. In the beginning this connection was very costly, but in these days the cost of broadband is nearly equal to dial up. Now you can play games online or can establish a video conversation link.
